Jelena Kasumović has joined REDI in 2020 as an intern, and now she is a program assistant in Serbia. Jelena is from Niš, Serbia. She has finished high school in economics and she is a graduate of the Faculty of Law in Niš.

Jelena is a longtime activist in the Roma community. She started her activist career in the Group for Children and Youth Indigo where she supported Roma children in education. After that, she became a United Nations volunteer. She is an associate of the Initiative for Economic and Social Rights A11 where she provides legal assistance to internally displaced persons. She also worked at a legal clinic for the protection of women’s rights. Jelena works actively in the community and she is committed to improving the position of the Roma entrepreneurs.
