REDI SUMMIT 2022 - 17th of May 2022, Brussels

The EU’s response to economic recovery from the COVID pandemic, is the launch of the twin transition: Green and Digital. The 2022 European Commission Work Programme states that helping the Union emerge stronger and more resilient should be achieved by implementing the green and digital transitions, and build a fairer, more resilient and more cohesive society. The October 2020 Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans” supports long term economic based between others on green and digital transition and human capital development.
While the mainstream society was already in the midst of the green and digital transition, vulnerable Roma remains excluded from the benefits of the fast-paced and inevitable transformations. They are confronted with old employment patterns, labour market informality, limited access to internet, lack of adequate skills and technology literacy.
This panel aims to launch the discussion around challenges and opportunities provided by the Green and Digital Transitions for Roma Community.
