The study visit on best practices for the social inclusion of Roma people in Spain took place on February 27-28, 2024, and focused on the work of Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG). The visit brought together key organizations dedicated to Roma empowerment, including REDI Romania, REDI Serbia, AMRITA, and VšĮ Inovacijų Biuras. These organizations contribute to economic development, advocacy, and social integration initiatives for Roma communities in their respective countries.
The visit to Fundacion Secretariado Gitano provided deep insights into the ACCEDER program and its significant impact on the Roma community in Spain. ACCEDER’s comprehensive, individualized, and innovative approach to employment has proven effective in fostering social inclusion and economic empowerment. The lessons learned from FSG’s work will be invaluable for the DigiFast project and similar initiatives aimed at improving employment outcomes for marginalized communities across Europe. By addressing the unique challenges faced by Roma individuals and continuously adapting to changing market conditions, ACCEDER serves as a model for NGOs working to enhance employment opportunities for marginalized groups. The program’s success demonstrates the importance of comprehensive support, strong partnerships, and a commitment to innovation in achieving social inclusion and equality.
