REDI Romania 🇷🇴

The project aims to develop supportive instruments for young Roma entrepreneurs with a focus on entrepreneurship, instruments developed by REDI in partnership with other 4 NGOs to produce a pedagogical module, a toolkit, video materials (10 media files on entrepreneurship initiatives) and a blended learning event.

The grant supports REDI to become an ecosystem builder and connector between Roma entrepreneurs operating in their communities and the mainstream business environment.
During the project, REDI staff and field officers pass through capacity building training and activities to provide business development services to Roma entrepreneurs. Human resource is developed to become loan officers, business facilitators that will enable access to finance to support entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

The project aims to build a generation of cadre capable to become staff of the REDI investment vehicle, REDI Fund. The project will nurture and grow a network of Roma loan officers, by placing them for internships with MFIs in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and North Macedonia for a period of 6-12 months. The project will help to build trust and confidence between the Roma entrepreneurs and financial institutions.

The purpose of the grant is to support the establishment and overseeing an Investment Fund targeting Roma entrepreneurs, to provide technical assistance to the participating micro financial institutions and Roma entrepreneurs, and to grow the Investment Fund by leveraging capital from other investors.

The project supported Roma entrepreneurs affected by Covid-19 pandemic crisis, with programs to sustain and develop their businesses.
We offered the following support programs to Roma entrepreneurs:
1. REDI Call Center (providing Roma entrepreneurs with information on existing measures and support)
2. Roma Digital Boost (digitalization of businesses training and award of digitalization packages)
3. Going Entrepreneurial (business development services)
4. Roma Business Clubs (networking of Roma entrepreneurs)
5. REDI Recycling (partnership with GoGreen and PakoMak in Macedonia- developing recycling social enterprise involving Roma waste collectors.)

REDI North Macedonia 🇲🇰

The goal of the Roma Inclusion Activity is to reduce discrimination of Roma people and improve their inclusion in society.
In the project, there will be created a Community-led development Hub, where Roma community will access services such as: legal empowerment, economic empowerment, health and wellbeing social security, aiming to empower Roma to play a leadership role in the implementation of the National Strategy “One Society for All” and Roma Strategy 2014 – 2020 (or its follow-on), and in driving the next steps related to Roma rights and inclusion. The project is implemented in partnership with 4 organizations in North Macedonia.
In the hub, REDI will provide Roma communities with:
–    free advice on accessing employment services and opportunities
–    support for establishing businesses and accessing funding
–    support for legalization of informal businesses
–    supporting access to educational opportunities and requalification programs
