Description
The MOSAIC project is an innovative initiative designed to enhance the inclusiveness, relevance, and impact of entrepreneurship education for under-represented founders across Europe. Recognizing the unique challenges and barriers that these entrepreneurs face—particularly in accessing finance—the MOSAIC project seeks to create a more level playing field by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to succeed.
Under-represented founders, including those from BAME, Roma, and other under-represented communities, possess immense potential to drive economic, social, and cultural growth. However, they often encounter fragmented support structures, limited access to finance, and a lack of tailored educational resources, leading to their underrepresentation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The MOSAIC project addresses these gaps by developing a comprehensive Competence Framework that aligns with the specific challenges and skill needs of ethnic entrepreneurs. This framework forms the foundation for a modular curriculum that can be adapted to various learning environments, including classroom, online, and hybrid settings.
To ensure that entrepreneurship education is not only accessible but also culturally and gender-sensitive, the MOSAIC project will produce inclusive teaching and learning materials. These resources will be enriched with case studies and background information, all of which will be available as Open Educational Resources (OERs) on an interactive networking hub. This platform will foster social learning, exchange, and networking opportunities among ethnic founders, educators, and potential investors.
A key component of the project is the development of an Interactive Knowledge Gap & Investment Readiness Assessment App. This tool will help users analyse their competencies, identify suitable funding sources, and provide personalized guidance on enhancing their financial skills. Additionally, the MOSAIC project will create a Connector Guide, empowering users to organize networking events that bring together ethnic founders and investors, promoting inclusive investing practices.
The overarching goal of the MOSAIC project is to enable adult educators to deliver entrepreneurship education that is inclusive, innovative, and relevant to ethnic founders. By closing knowledge gaps, improving investment readiness, and sensitizing the investment community, the project aims to increase the success rates of ethnic startups. Ultimately, MOSAIC will contribute to the emergence of a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem across Europe, where diversity is celebrated, and equal opportunities are available for all.
